A
word from the Commissioner, March, 2009 -
We are approaching that time of year. It’s once again
time to check out your equipment, your body parts and to take
the gym more seriously. EMASS is entering its 15th season
and it promises to be its best. We are excited about the total
revamping of the National and Atlantic Divisions, the addition
of 2 wonderful fields in Waltham for Tuesday play and the
opportunity to play Wednesday nights under the brand new lighting
conditions at Cochituate Field in Wayland. It looks to be
a fun year ahead.
Presently we are in the midst of our annual recruiting period
so many of you will be looking at this site for the first
time wondering what we’re all about. This website will
tell you a lot about us, so check it out.
In a nutshell -> we are a 15 year old program with more
than 300 athletes from 3 states and over 100 cities &
towns in New England. We are all over 50 years old playing
softball on Saturdays and Tuesdays in designated Divisions
that relate to each of our own individual skill levels. In
this way each person competes against athletes with similar
abilities and all players are thus able to maximize their
playing time. We are a not-for-profit corporation that is
run by a very well organized Board that is concerned about
everybody having fun and competing hard according to rules
created especially for senior softball. Also, we are more
than a local league - we have tournament
teams that have had National successes and our program
is known throughout the country.
There is much more but there are space constraints on this
page.
Looking forward to seeing everybody out there! ~ Stu Gray,
Commissioner
